The ‘ dumbing down ‘ of stories has been an issue within media research for a while. For many years tabloid newspapers have remained one of the best promoting available in the market, however issues have been raised over the spill of tabloid model journalism into ‘high quality’ newspapers (i.e. broadsheets) and broadcast information in the UK. This project aims to determine and discuss dumbing down as a concept and the implications it might have on news as a media product.
